MALPACK Ltd. invests in fifth cast stretch-film unit

Based in Ajax, Ontario, Canada, MALPACK, Ltd., has purchased its fifth cast stretch-film line from Gloucester Engineering. Set to be delivered at the end of 2009, the line will boost the converter's capacity by 43.6 million lbs/yr, making it the highest capacity such system in the country. It will also be the first in North America to use NanoLayer(TM) Feedblock technology from Cloeren Inc.

The line will be capable of producing stretch film for hand and machine wrap in thicknesses from 40 to 200 gauge (10 to 50 micron). The NanoLayer Feedblock technology is said to offer MALPACK's customers increased film performance at reduced thickness, providing them with a competitive advantage in the stretch-film market as well as boosting sustainability aspects of the product.
