The European Metallizers Assn. announces the winners of the best metallized products in the European market.

Whisking away the Metallized Product of the Year is Rexam Metallising Ltd. for its packaging of a deep-frozen burger. The packaging consists of a polyester film with a heat-sealable and peelable layer on the inside, a nearly transparent aluminum metallization, a microwave adhesive and a cellophane film on the outside.

French company Les Café Dubois Soplaril Silces wins the packaging category for its coffee product. It manufactures a metallized film as the starting point for vacuum packaging to replace a four-layered composite.

Winning in the functional category is an Austrian motorway sticker manufactured by Hueck Folien GmbH. Patented diffraction patterns and holographic decorations from API Foils was recognized in the decoration category.
