Plan that summer vacation

By Laura McCluskey -- Converting Magazine, 6/1/2001

It's time to think about your summer vacation and what destination to go to. Travel.yahoo.com has a wide variety of information to help you choose your next vacation.

If you already know where you'd like to go, then type in your destination into Plan Your Trip. It will do a search and come up with featured destinations within the requested area. Simply click on any of the featured destinations and you're linked to various Web sites dealing with that location.

Perhaps you don't know where you're going to go. Is Europe a possibility? Click on Europe and pick from the list of countries to visit. Each country has featured destinations as well. Or try taking a glance at the Full Profile of that country. Find out information from history and culture to attractions to visit.

By either knowing your location or searching for one, you can always find out the current temperature and weather forecast for the area for the current day as well as four days to follow. Want to see a map of the location? Click on the picture of the map and see a small version of the country or state.

Once you decide on your destination, pick and choose Lodging, Dining, Nightlife and Points of interest by clicking on each category.

Other features this site has include: Getting Around, which consists of airport, car rental, limousine and shuttle, and mass transit information; Local Events, a variety of links to different events around your destination; Sports and Outdoors , links to sporting events and places to participate in outdoor activities; and Travel Resources, which consists of magazines, newspapers and travel agents available.
