Flexo ink with heat resistance

Thermokett HR™ is said to be heat resistant with good color strength and no need for a crosslinker. It also has good water resistance properties and superior abrasion and scratch resistance. This ink can be used in all flexographic print units provided the ink is dried with hot air or IR dryers. It can also be used with negative doctor blades as well as in chambered doctor-blade systems. Thermokett HR is suitable for self-adhesive labels, cash receipts and tickets/tags/boards.

Adhesives specially formulated for converting

This co. offers the new Excelerator adhesives line, which consists of four different types. The WB-3570 is used for corrugated applications, adheres to a variety of corrugated coatings and is designed to run at high speeds with less waste. The WB-3571 adhesive is used for carton forming and provides wet tack for shorter compression time and faster line speeds. As for the WB-3580, this adhesive is for non-contact extrusion carton-forming applications. And lastly, the WB-3590 adhesive is used for carton forming applications that use difficult stocks.

Water-based primer/additive with primer

The Polaqua 73F, a water-based primer/adhesive, offers extrusion, lamination and printing primer. It possesses superior water and moisture resistance and can be used for a wide variety of substrates. High bond strengths are achieved with only minute application levels of Polaqua 73F, says co. Product works best when applied to the substrate and dried. The extrudate, lamination or printing inks will then bond to the primed surface.

Splicing tape with heat resistance

The new 598 is an easy release, heat resistant silicone splicing tape designed for use on pressure-sensitive adhesive coated tapes, labels and other substrates. This coated blue polyester tape features a modified silicone adhesive to withstand high temperatures. This tape unwinds smoothly and removes cleanly leaving no adhesive residue, reports co. The 598 tape is used for a wide range of converting applications, which includes to wrap idler rolls that come into contact with tacky surfaces.

Adhesive tape has new liner option

The 4355M adhesive tape now has a new liner option. It is available on a 74-lb. polycoated lay-flat liner. The unique construction enables the use of the exposed side for bonding to a variety of foam materials. The liner side is suitable for adhering to surfaces such as talc-filled polypropylene, HDPE and others. The tapes are distinguished by color: the 74-lb. liner is white and the 12PT board is natural brown. Both versions are constructed with a high tack, heat-resistant rubber adhesive coating on the liner side. The exposed side is coated with a high-heat-resistant arcrylic adhesive.

Pneumatic shaft eliminates knife axial movement

The 1280-CT pneumatic slitter drive shaft is manufactured from high quality steel, chrome plated, then ground and polished to precise tolerances to the bottom knife's inner diameter. The knives are positioned in place without tools. By inflating a single air valve, the knives are locked in place anywhere along the shaft by wide, smooth and continuous rubber gripping ledges to eliminate any axial movement of the knives. Positioning system completed on drive

This fully automatic positioning system module IV uses an autonomous drive concept. The top and bottom positioning modules are started simultaneously, but proceed in different directions according to the effected software optimization.
