Delaware City, Del.-based PVC film converter VPI Mirrex completes a $5 million capital-equipment upgrade, including the addition of inline slitting on one line and a post-calender improvement on another.

The inline slitter eliminates a previous downstream, offline operation, and the post-calender project improves lay-flatness and gauge profile, as well as provides inline machine-direction oriented capability for shrink-label materials, the company says. VPI Mirrex manufactures PVC film for the pharmaceutical, static-control and general packaging markets. It has plants in Delaware and Wisconsin.
