The Type SA epicyclic drive can be used as a differential to control web tension via precise speed adjustment, correct register, and balance speed and torque; or as a speed reducer with standard ratios 2:1 to 260:1. The drive is available in 10 sizes with perfect load sharing between the planet gears to permit torque capacities up to 2,500,000 in./lb.
