Wine labelmaker Vintage 99 adds HP Indigo press
-- Converting Magazine, 8/18/2008
Vintage 99 Label Manufacturing, Inc. of Livermore, CA, adds an HP Indigo ws4500 press for its wine-label portfolio. The press was installed last month and offers key production advantages for the company’s current client base. The ws4500 digitally prints labels rivaling those from Vintage 99’s waterless-offset press, while enabling the firm to produce the smaller-quantity jobs that are becoming prevalent in the industry.
“The wine market is highly competitive and having the highest quality possible is a very important factor for our customers,” says Kathy Gonzales, president of Vintage 99.
Designed for continuous operation, the HP Indigo press ws4500 offers a fully automatic workflow and enhanced color capabilities. The press offers six- and seven- color process matching capabilities and the ability to print with and switch sport colors between jobs. Vintage 99 established a turnkey short- to medium-run production operation with its HP Indigo installation, pairing the press with a new Digicon finishing unit from Omega.
