Flexo quality prompts switch from gravure

Editor: Mark Spaulding -- Converting Magazine, 8/1/2008

Through the addition of a new Primaflex® CM CI-flexo press (left) from Windmoeller & Hoelscher Corp. Reynolds Flexible Packaging has convinced a major customer to switch from gravure to flexo printing for its shrink-sleeve labels. Neilson Dairy opted to change its nationally-recognized Canadian brands to Reynolds' flexo printing because of the quality and additional flexibility in re-ordering low-volume items with decreased costs.

“We're very excited to offer virtually gravure-quality printing but with the economies of flexo,” says Reynolds marketing manager Terry Copenhaver.

Running at Reynolds' Downingtown, PA, plant, the Primaflex CM has 10 color decks, “EASY-SET” automatic impression setting and TURBOCLEAN® 600 automatic inking and washup.
