CMM Built around YOU!

Attend one of the world's largest expositions and conferences-designed just for you.

By Associate Editor Holly Ann Suzik -- Converting Magazine, 3/1/2001

Whether you want to see the latest machinery in action, network with converting gurus, or learn about digital printing capabilities, the show to attend is CMM International, April 23 to 26. In its 13th year, the biennial event takes place at Chicago's McCormick Place and is the world's largest exposition and conference for the global converting and packaging-printing marketplace.

For show details, turn to Converting. Peruse and find new products exhibited (p. 46), the conference program (p. 72) and an alphabetical list of exhibitors, which includes descriptions of products and services at each booth (p. 78).

New corrugated pavilion

Anyone involved with corrugated and folding cartons must visit the new corrugated pavilion and presentation theater. Here, you'll find the latest products and technologies from leading machinery manufacturers.

Designed to provide a total educational experience, the pavilion and theater promises machinery demonstrations and presentations on specific applications. This format offers a better understanding of the newest equipment impacting the industry and allows attendees to ask questions for an informed purchasing decision.

At the 1999 CMM, nearly one-third of the 32,000 attendees shopped for corrugated and folding carton equipment, machinery, materials and supplies.

Conference offers answers

With the theme, "Bringing Solutions ... Technology ... Empowerment to Ensure Business Success," the conference program delivers topics for every segment of the industry, ranging from e-commerce and key management issues to technical sessions. The three-day conference has more than 20 sessions developed along three program tracks.

Preliminary topics for the conference include inks, solvent, water, UV/EB; decoding digital printing technologies; the substrate in the converting process; diversity in narrow web; better web handling; flexo on corrugated; new packaging concepts; and enabling of new technology.

AIMCAL, CEMA, FPA with AICC, FTA, NPA, PPC, RadTech, Boxboard Containers International, Converting, Label & Narrow Web, Package Printing and Paper, Film & Foil Converter are some of the associations and publications that contributed to the comprehensive program.

CMM International is produced and managed by Miller Freeman, Inc. For registration information, call 800/829-3976 or visit www.cmmshow.com. The advanced exposition registration fee is $25 until April 6. Onsite is $40. A full-conference advance registration fee is $400 or $450 onsite.
