DVD-package printer runs jumbo MAN ROLAND 900 XXL
-- Converting Magazine, 2/1/2008
How do you package larger-than-life hit movies as DVDs? The answer at Wynalda Litho is to invest in a larger-than-life sheetfed press—the 64-in. ROLAND 900 XXL. The six-color plus coater system is helping the Belmont, MI, printer rack up efficiencies in its DVD-packaging business.
“On larger runs, we realize efficiency improvements as a result of lower labor and lower cost per piece,” says Mike Ottenwess, Wynalda Litho controller/operations manager. “Our net production increase may range from 40% to 100%, depending on layout.”
“Our new 64-in. press is our real star,” adds Wynalda vice president Dan Longberg. “There are only a handful of presses like this in the entire country, and now that we have one, we will be able to pursue assignments that we have had to traditionally shy away from due to size constraints.”
