Eco-friendly slitter/rewinder

Minimizes power consumption; does not use hydraulics

The twin-shaft Titan ER610 cantilever “eco-logical rewinder” helps reduce carbon emissions through minimized power consumption, says co. This environmentally-friendly slitter/rewinder does not use hydraulics for oil-free, hygienic operation and uses unlubricated compressed air to eliminate oil/air emissions. The ER610 can process 53- and 65-in. web widths at up to 1,476 fpm. Minimum slit width is 1.97 in. with a maximum rewind diameter of 24 in. on twin cantilevered, differential rewind shafts. Along with its eco-friendly features, the ER610 also has integral edge-trim removal system and a shaftless fixed-height unwind stand with pneumatically controlled braking.

Box gluer

For litho-laminated boxes

Co. has applied for a US patent for its fully-automatic, one-pass two-piece box gluer for litho-laminated two piece boxes and large two-piece boxes. The gluer has a dual feed set up table with center joint pre-gluing, which eliminates the need to pre-fold two-piece boxes. Sheet one is fed through a glue station under sheet two and both are fed into the folding section. The box continues to a PLC-controlled automatic adhesion system on the center seam and then onto an automatic stacking section.

Ink pump

Winner of FlexoTech Innovation Award

Co.'s quick-change peristaltic ink pump has been awarded the 2007 FlexoTech International Best Innovation in Printing Press/Finishing award. Also known as a “tube” pump, the peristaltic uses a flexible tube which passes through a head and is squeezed by two rollers pushing the ink to the print deck. The head is removable for a quick changeover. A variable- speed motor controls the flow. Pumps are reversible so that ink can be drawn back from the print deck at the end of a run.
