AB Graphic International (www.abgint.com) held its second open house at its Elgin, IL, facility last month. The event, with a European theme, was co-sponsored by Hewlett Packard and brought together converting professionals from more than 70 companies. Among the presentations: “Latest Industry Trends,” “Business Case for Digital Label Products” and a close-up demonstration of the HP Indigo ws4500 digital press, and “RFID Overview” with Avery Dennison.
AB Graphic demonstrated various equipment including the Omega Digicon (left) press with foil stamping and embossing for digitally printed labels, Vectra turret rewinders, Omega slitter/rewinders, the Flytec range of 100-percent inspection and pharmaceutical rewinders with overviews of laser diecutting and the Omega Digilam laminator for narrow-web packaging materials.
Guests were treated to a European experience with foods and beverages from Belgium. Hewlett Packard entertained on the first evening, transforming an area of a local hotel into “an old European town” with displays of the winners of the HP Indigo Label Awards that were announced during Labelexpo Brussels.
“The entire event was a resounding success,” said Al Spendow, vice president of operations for AB Graphic USA. “Our aim was to bring together customers, potential clients and valued partners under one roof so we could offer full end-to-end solutions.”—Jorina Fontelera
