Label-printing powerhouse Multi-Color Corp. in Cincinnati will install a second Omet Varyflex (www.matik.com) narrow-web flexographic press. The system (above), purchased at Labelexpo Europe 2007, will help the company keep up with growing flexo-label demand.

Multi-Color's initial Varyflex is reportedly the first combination flexo/gravure press in the US. That wide-format press will be configured with flexo, gravure, screen and foil platforms. The newest press will provide flexo and screen printing, lamination and foil stamping. It will have an integrated vision-inspection system to hold extremely tight registration as well, Multi-Color says.

“The additional flexo capacity strengthens our value proposition and enables us to offer our customers the highest quality flexo printing as well as shorter lead-times, improved manufacturing efficiencies and multiple decorating solutions,” says Don Kneir, president of the Multi-Color Decorating Solutions Div.
