Gilbreth Packaging to boost shrink-label business with new Rotomec gravure press

-- Converting Magazine, 11/1/2007

Croydon, PA-based Gilbreth Packaging's new state-of-the-art Bobst Rotomec RS 4003 MP (www.bobstgroup.com) 10-station, gravure-printing press will provide it with the versatility, creativity, speed-to-market and vibrant colors needed for its growing shrink-labels business. The new press offers complete job presetting, press diagnostics and an operator-friendly design for quick make-ready, Gilbreth says. Greater versatility permits rapid changeover to reduce leadtimes and control production costs.

The RS 4003 MP is suited for medium to long runs of flexible packaging. Speeds up to 1,150 fpm are possible via electronic-shaft technology integrated with register control that can reportedly reduce startup waste of substrate, ink and solvent by up to 40 percent.
