West Chester, OH-based Eclipse Film Technologies installs a Machine Direction Orientation (MDO) unit from Windmoeller & Hoelscher Corp. (www.whcorp.com) at the company's 26,000-sq-ft plant. Eclipse Film specializes solely in the MDO of polymer films and uses a full range of substrates such as olefins, high-barrier webs and many others.

Fabrico (www.fabrico.com), a flexible-materials converter and label printer in Kennesaw, GA, adds capacity with a new Aquaflex ELS 2200 press (www.aquaflex.com). The 13-in. flexo press increases the breadth of materials printed by Fabrico and can be positioned in-line with laminating and diecutting processes.

Quest Graphics (www.questgraphics.com), a Maryland Heights, MO, point-of-purchase packaging and commercial printer, installs a new 6-color, 64-in. KBA Rapida 162 (www.kba-usa.com) sheetfed-offset press with in-line UV capabilities. The press has KBA's popular closed-loop Densitronic S scanning spectrodensitometer that significantly reduces waste.

Altopro S.A. de C.V. (www.altopro.com.mx) will construct a new biaxially-oriented polypropylene (BOPP) film facility in Queretarco, Mexico, sized to house three BOPP-film lines. Phase 1 includes an 8.7-meter BOPP orienter with annual capacity of 88 million lbs. The overall US$50-million investment is expected to more than double Altopro's current capacity in 2008.
