Carton finisher Compu-Pak installs Bobst SPeria diecutter to meet capacity needs

-- Converting Magazine, 10/1/2007

Compu-pak, Inc., a full-service packaging finisher in Carlstadt, NJ, expands its production capabilities with a new Bobst SPeria 106-E Autoplaten® diecutter (www.bobstgroup.com).

“Due to the increase in demand for larger-capacity runs and exacting capabilities from our present customer base in addition to requests from a new source of proposed customers, who also demand larger orders and quicker turnaround, we found it necessary to expand our capabilities,” says Compu-pak President Rick Esposito.

With its average order sizes growing from 15,000 to 50,000 sheets, greater capacity was necessary. The new Bobst SPeria (at left) can run at 7,700 sph, which in most cases is double the speed of the older generation of diecutters. The speed will be quickly put to task on the SPeria's maiden production run which is an 850,000-piece order. Providing additional capacity and backup, Compu-pak will continue to operate its original Bobst 1080-E in addition to the new SPeria.
