Cincinnati-based labelmaker Multi-Color Corp. purchases a new HP Indigo ws4500 (www.hp.com) digital-offset printing press to meet customer demand for specialized decorating solutions in small- to mid-range print runs. Unlike traditional narrow-web presses, this new digital press will have quicker changeovers, less scrap, and faster direct-to-press speeds to deliver quality, cost-effective labels for a wide variety of Multi-Color's technologies including pressure-sensitive, in-mold, shrink sleeve and cut-and-stack labels. The ws4500 will be placed in the company's Green Bay, WI, plant.
Ameri-Seal, Inc., a converter of PVC/PETG/OPS shrink sleeves, moves into its new 33,000-sq-ft plant in Chatsworth, CA. It added a proprietary slitter/rewinder and seamer especially to speed deliveries of clear-film materials. The new building also has expanded areas for the Contract Sleeving Div., Converting Area and Graphics Department.
