CPP Expo Show Planner 2007

More exhibitors, bigger conference highlight the event co-located with Pack Expo Las Vegas.

By Editor in Chief Mark Spaulding -- Converting Magazine, 9/1/2007

The fledgling Converting & Package Printing Expo moves into its third year bigger and with more to offer industry attendees. Organized by H.A. Bruno LLC (www.cppexpo.com), CPP Expo 2007 returns to Las Vegas Oct. 15-17, co-located at the Las Vegas Convention Ctr. with Pack Expo Las Vegas 2007.

Along with the more than 100 CPP Expo-specific exhibitors displaying printing presses/processes, components, inspection systems, web controls, slitter/rewinders, finishing equipment, substrates, materials, inks, coatings, RFID and packaging-design solutions, about 100 more converting and package-printing suppliers will be located throughout the Pack Expo Las Vegas sections of the combined shows.

AIMCAL pavilion

Once again, a special pavilion sponsored by the Ft. Mill, SC-based Assn. of Industrial Metallizers, Coaters & Laminators (www.aimcal.org) will be a highlight of CPP Expo. As of presstime, that group included Adhesives Research, Celpast Metallized Products, Extrusion Dies, Filmquest, M&J Polyex, PBI-Dansensor America, Rayven, Royal Adhesives, Terphane, Inc., Unifoil Corp., Vacumet Corp., VAST Films, Ltd., and Worthen Industries.

The third running of CPP Expo benefits from association participation beyond AIMCAL and previous sponsors such as the Assn. of Independent Corrugated Converters, the Converting Equipment Manufacturers Assn., the Flexible Packaging Assn. and the Packaging & Label Gravure Assn.-Global. At the 2007 show, the Gravure Assn. of America will have its member companies featured in Pack Expo's Showcase of Packaging Innovations, and ACIMGA (Italian Manufacturers' Association for the Graphic, Converting and Paper Industry) will work with show management on an Italian pavilion for the 2008 event.

Three days of seminars

More than 900 industry professionals attended the 40+ sessions at the co-located expositions' conference program in 2005. This year, 20 converting-specific sessions are planned for CPP Expo. (See box on p. 46 for pricing.)
