Custom paper-sheeter and converter J. MacKenzie, Ltd. (www.jmackenzie.com) of Rochester, NY, broadens its capabilities with the addition of a Pemco SHM 1450 sheeter (www.pemco.kpl.net). The equipment installation will provide increased productivity and added flexibility in packaging options for the printing and converting market. Able to run paper, board, plastics, film, laminates or corrugated, the Pemco SHM 1450 sheeter is equipped with the high-tolerance, cut-to-register feature which allows J. MacKenzie to process preprinted rolls.
Group DC, a pressure-sensitive label converter located in Ville Lasalle, Canada, installs a new ETI Cohesio system (www.eticonverting.com) at its plant in Montreal. The unit applies silicone and adhesive on release liner, laminates it to label facestock and die-cuts in-line. The ETI Cohesio joins two Metronome narrow-web flexo presses also from ETI Converting. The equipment expansions are part of Group DC's response to growth in the security-tape industry.
Bedford Park, IL-based Midwest Converting installs a new 65-in., double-fly knife Precision sheeter from Maxson Automatic Machinery (www.maxson.com) at its headquarters facility. The system will add 650 tons more sheeting capacity each month, running lightweight papers as well as paperboards up to 34 pt. It was purchased mainly to expedite and fulfill one- to two-day turnaround sheeting orders.
