Third-generation press fits short runs

The HP Indigo ws4500 is reportedly the most productive digital solution for packaging and label printing with an economical run length as low as 6,500 ft. Significantly reduced setup time is possible via changing spot colors on-the-fly while printing, making changes to the print order in seconds with a simple mouse click, and optionally reinserting media to allow two-sided digital printing. Variable-data printing helps customers personalize products. The ws4500 digital press prints with up to seven colors to provide up to 97 percent of the Pantone® color range, co. says.

Digital-offset press uses digital-plate imaging

The 74 Karat digital sheetfed-offset press meets the needs of the fast-growing 20.5 x 29-in. market segment with its production speed, print quality, ease of operation and net performance, co. says. It integrates digital-plate imaging for four-color printing in the short- to medium-run sector. Characterized by its extremely compact design and minimal space requirements, the 74 Karat has double-size plate cylinders and four Gravuflow™ short-train inking units. The two imaging units are arranged vertically to the side of the central triple-sized impression cylinder. Inking and printing units are located on one side of the press, while the feeder and delivery are positioned together at the other side.
