Extruder, printer and flex-pack converter Packaging Personified, Inc. (www.packagingpersonified.com), grows its business with the purchase of a new KIRION® 3-layer blown-film system from Kiefel, Inc. (www.kiefel-extrusion.com).
Previously, Packaging Personified had provided monolayer films exclusively to its customers; this purchase is its first multilayer blown-film production system. According to general manager, sales and administration Dan Imburgia, it was a logical move in response to customer wishes. “Business has been good for us, and we recently decided to expand our business by offering coextruded blown films to our customers, who have asked us to provide broader product lines.
“After researching several of the leading suppliers, we chose Kiefel as our first multilayer system. The Kiefel system offered the best technical solution for our needs.” The new line, which will produce 3-layer films up to 86 in. wide and roll diameters up to 48 in., is complete with Kiefel’s KIRION® C control system and C2 auto-profiling system.
With two plants in Carol Stream, IL, and Sparta, MI, Packaging Personified serves a variety of customers in the fresh food, frozen food, pet food, consumer goods and medical markets, among others.
