Editor: Mark Spaulding -- Converting Magazine, 2/1/2007
Substrate maker Next Generation Films, Inc. (www.nextgenfilms.com), will install a 126-in., 3-layer VAREX® blown-film extrusion line from Windmoeller & Hoelscher Corp. (www.whcorp.com) at its Lexington, OH, plant next August. With a configuration capable of extruding up to 2,000 lbs/hr, the new line is reportedly among the highest output film lines in North America. Next Generation Films installed its first W&H blown film line—also a 3-layer VAREX—back in 2001.
Founded in 1994, Next Generation is a supplier of specialty films to a variety of packaging and other end-user markets.
The new VAREX features W&H's MULTINIP® haul-off, the OPTIFIL® P2 gauge-control system with dual-lip air ring and a MAXICONE® C compact die with a 31.5-in. die diameter, designed for the production of 3-layer films.
