More than 100 new companies sign on for CMM Intl. 2007

Editor: Mark Spaulding -- Converting Magazine, 2/1/2007

More than 100 new companies have signed on to exhibit at CMM Intl. 2007 (www.cmmshow.com) during the last three months, says organizer PennWell. The industry's largest converting exposition and conference will be held June 4-7 at the Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL.

According to CMM show management, many of these companies are either new to CMM or have come back to the show after not participating in recent years. Several companies also have expanded their original booth size and many of them now are planning to bring running equipment.

“The excitement is starting to build for CMM now that many companies have completed the busy fall season of smaller events and are finalizing their 2007 budgets,” says Jim Enos, CMM show director and vice president of PennWell Corp. “With several months to go before the show, we're adding new exhibitors at a rapid pace, even more quickly than anticipated.”

Among the many new enhancements to CMM 2007 are two Technology Centers that will feature the most advanced equipment producing actual converting jobs on the show floor all four days of the event. The Flexible Packaging Technology Center, announced in late October, and several industry leaders have already signed to sponsor it and bring their latest equipment. Bobst/Schiavi will showcase its newest flexo press, Profama is bringing a new slitter/rewinder, and Hudson-Sharp will feature an advanced state-of-the-art bagmaker, and AirTrim will provide a pneumatic trim system. Several other participating companies in the Flexible Packaging Tech Center will be announced soon.

Also new to the 2007 show is the Narrow To Mid-Web Technology Center that will feature leading suppliers showcasing the latest equipment that can produce jobs on both narrow- and mid-web converting equipment and presses. This Technology Center is being developed in cooperation with DiTrolio Flexographic Institute and several major sponsors will be announced soon.

Other enhancements to CMM: CEMA will co-locate its popular Slitting & Rewinding and Coating & Laminating seminars onsite at CMM; certification Training and Testing for flexo press operators; an insightful keynote presentation by a well-known industry authority; an expanded and enhanced Conference Program with a wide variety of tracks and sessions; more running equipment than at CMM 2005.
