Admiral Packaging makes seventh W&H investment

Editor: Mark Spaulding -- Converting Magazine, 1/1/2007

Flex-pack converter Admiral Packaging, Inc. (www.admiralpkg.com), makes its seventh investment in equipment from Windmoeller & Hoelscher Corp. (www.whcorp.com) with the purchase of a NOVOFLEX® CM flexographic printing press. The 59-in., 10-color CI system (above) will be shipped to Admiral's Providence, RI, facility in July for installation in August this year. A long-standing W&H customer, Admiral (formerly Union Industries) purchased its first W&H press back in 1982.

“The 10-color press will supplement our present 6- and 8-color W&H presses,” says Admiral Packaging president Harley Frank. “Having this new press online will definitely benefit efficiencies and flexibility to keep us competitive with a domestic and import market.”

Admiral Packaging provides flexible packaging to the frozen foods, seafood, consumer products, industrial, product sampling, direct mail, and other markets. It operates a 220,000-sq-ft plant in Providence.

The NOVOFLEX CM sold to Admiral Packaging features a maximum printing width of 57 in. and a repeat range of 15.75 to 34.5 in. It is equipped with W&H's latest generation TURBOCLEAN® 600 A inking and automatic washup system, EASY-SET fully automatic impression-setting system and EASY-REG automatic registration adjustment.
