Bobst, Profama to sponsor Flex Pack tech center at CMM INTL. 2007
Mark Spaulding -- Converting Magazine, 11/1/2006
An innovative new Flexible Packaging Technology Center at next summer's CMM International 2007 will recreate a high-tech printing and converting operation “live” on the show floor. CMM (www.cmmshow.com), organized by PennWell Conferences & Exhibitions Group, will be held June 4-7, 2007, at the Stephens Convention Ctr. in Rosemont, IL.
The 6,000-sq-ft Flex Pack tech center will feature a Bobst/Schiavi (www.bobstgroup.com) electronic flexo press from the Italian manufacturer's high-performance, 10-color EF 50 CI-flexo press series, Profama's (www.profama.com) new Pratica 1200 slitter/rewinder and a variety of other equipment from leading manufacturers during all four days of the show.
“This is truly a unique opportunity for converters to experience the most effective methods of handling a flexible-packaging job from start to finish,” says Alain Jendly, vice president, Flexible Materials Products for Bobst Group USA. “Delivering high-end graphics with fast turnaround is an essential equipment requirement for the profitability of every flexo-printing operation.”
Mauro Consalvi from Brazil's Profama adds: “We were immediately impressed with the opportunity to let the attendees witness the full capabilities of our equipment. We believe this forum will benefit those looking to purchase new equipment or to evaluate the latest developments.”
“We're delighted that we can provide CMM attendees with a hands-on opportunity of experiencing running equipment producing actual jobs,” says CMM show director Jim Enos. “The leading request of every CMM attendee survey conducted over the last several years is to see more running equipment at the show.”
