Converters make purchases at Labelexpo show
Staff -- Converting Magazine, 10/1/2006
At least a half dozen new label-printing presses and other equipment displayed at last week's Labelexpo Americas 2006 in Rosemont, IL, will soon be delivered to converters around the world—several of whom bought the systems on the show floor. Among the converters:
Etipress SA of Colombia purchased the 13-in., 6-color Omet Flexy-S all-servo press (www.matik.com) on exhibit. Its ergonomic design provides a control panel that slides the length of the press, keeping it within easy reach of the operator at all times. Omet is represented in the US by Matik North America (West Hartford, CT).
Toronto's Metro Label, Inc., bought the shrink-sleeve finishing equipment displayed by Stanford Products LCC (www.stanfordproductsllc.com). Metro is reportedly the largest converter of p-s labels in Canada. Stanford Products manufactures the SM 10 Seammachine and Doctor Machine Inspector.
Hamilton, OH-based Innovative Labeling Solutions, currently a flexo printer, bought the HP Indigo ws4050 digital-offset press on display (www.hp.com). Capable of up to 7-color printing and speeds to 104 fpm in 2-color mode, the ws4050 links to a range of in-line finishing and rewinding equipment.
