Water-based flexo ink

The Hydrokett Prime™ water-based flexo ink system for self-adhesive labels has low viscosity and foaming. It can be used in all flexo print units provided the ink is dried with hot air or IR dryers in combination with an air stream blowing on the web. It has great dot sharpness and has low odor, suitable for indirect food contact. It is available in a full range of Pantone® basic colors and a four-color process set.

Sheetfed ink

Liberty™ sheetfed inks utilize a proprietary formula that allows the ink to stay open on press without drying for days. At the same time, the inks will dry almost instantaneously once printed on the substrate. Their stay-open characteristics and ability to be used on a wide range of papers in different applications reduce the need for frequent press washes. They contain extremely low amounts of VOCs and do not use cobalt driers.

Water-based ink cleaner

Co. launches Re-Leez™, a cleaner for removing water-based ink from narrow-web presses, anilox rolls and other equipment. It is ideal for cleaning ink from anilox rolls between color changes on press. Its advanced surfactant technology is environmentally friendly, using no butyl-based solvents. It is biodegradable and produces no VOCs. It contains corrosion inhibitors and can be applied with a sprayer, brush or cloth.

UV flexo ink

i-Cure is a UV-curable flexo ink designed for demanding applications. It has increased cure reactivity and user-friendly viscosity, co. says. It is suitable for secondary heat applications and features low plate swell. It can be used on SBS, paper, assorted label stocks, polypropylene, polyesters and metallized foil.

UV ink system

Co. introduces a new UV ink system designed for shrink-sleeve label applications in opaque white, four-color process and spot colors. It has been engineered to withstand the rigors of the thermal shrink process and to resist cracking and de-lamination. The viscosity of the ink system is low enough to work well on standard anilox and pumping equipment for flexo presses. It flows and transfers exceptionally well on letterpress equipment.

Shrink ink for gravure or flexo

With either gravure or flexo equipment, ShrinkPac (gravure) or Flexo ShrinkPac shrink sleeve inks can be used on multiple substrates, including OPS, PVC and PETG. They provide excellent adhesion and color development. There is virtually no solvent attack with these ink formulations, eliminating distortion issues and the need for constant adjustments in order to compensate.

Flexo inks for labels

Co. introduces Galaxy, a new ink system for narrow web flexo label printers. It allows printers and converters to print solids and screens on the same plate using a 700-line, 2.0 bcm anilox roll. It also features low viscosity and needs little or no maintenance for hours at a time while running on press. It has good adhesion and is scratch- and water-resistant. Co. also launches its Multi-shrink ink system created to eliminate the need for different ink systems for multiple substrates. These inks have good color strength when used with two-roll metering systems or doctor blades, and maintain good press stability.

Shrink-film inks

Co. presents OptiShrink and Pharmaflex SW UV ink for shrink film applications. Both ink systems have fast production speeds and excellent shrink performance on all widely used shrink film materials, co. says. Co.'s unusual shrink-sleeve ink formulations allow converters to combine water-based and UV inks to get the best features of each ink system.
