Far Eastern New Material will install four complete PET film-extrusion lines at a new facility to be built in Wuhan, China. The commission represents the largest single order from China for Siegsdorf, Germany-based supplier Brückner Formtec GmbH (www.brueckner.com). The four lines will include three identical horizontal-roll stack lines for polished amorphous polyester (APET) film as well as an inclined-roll stack for thicker polished APET film. The new lines will increase Far Eastern's annual APET-film capacity to about 60,000 metric tons.
Fairfield, NJ-based label converter Logotech, Inc., adds a new Hewlett Packard Indigo ws4050 digital press (www.hp.com) and an AB Graphics Intl. finishing machine (www.abg-int.com) to its equipment arsenal. The 12-in., seven-color press and offline finisher com-plement the company's Gallus letterpress and Arsoma flexographic systems, says vice president Leslie Gurland. “The Indigo allows us to expand our capabilities in unique labels, prototypes, unsupported film and promotions,” she says.
Robinette Co. (Bristol, TN) will install its second Windmoeller & Hoelscher Corp. (www.whcorp.com) NOVOFLEX® press in November. Robinette decided to invest in 53-in. NOVOFLEX® CM 10-color flexo press for additional capacity as it continues making inroads into flex-pack markets. The press is equipped with the EASY-SET automatic im-pression setting system; PORT-A-SLEEVE sleeve-handling system to facilitate fast changeovers of plate cylinder and anilox roll sleeves; and TURBOCLEAN® automatic ink supply/wash-up system. Capacity on the new press will be allocated toward high-end flexo printing for laminated substrates such as roll stock, pouches and heat shrink.
