Calvin Frost, chief executive officer of the Channeled Resources Group (Chicago), has been named the winner of the 2006 R. Stanton Avery Lifetime Achievement Award. An international label-industry judging panel unanimously selected Frost from a list of nominees presented during the FINAT annual meeting in Warsaw, Poland. Winners of the other Label Industry Global Awards will be revealed Sept. 11 at a gala dinner during Labelexpo Americas 2006 in Rosemont, IL.
Calvin Frost is undoubtedly regarded as the leading international champion of recycling and environmental awareness in the label industry, devoting most of his working life and career to salvaging pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) waste and turning it into useful materials by making p-s products more environmentally friendly, the judges said. His ongoing mission is to continue to channel cost-effective and environmentally responsible solutions to global label converters and industry suppliers.
Channeled Resources, under Frost's guidance, is a leader in the field of re-processed paper, film labelstocks and liners, as well as in the re-use and recycling of p-s waste. Throughout his long association with the label industry, Frost has played an active role in the sector and in recycling organizations all over the world.
