Flexo Printing

In an exclusive Labelexpo Americas 2006 preview, Nilpeter USA (www.nilpeter.com) demonstrated high-quality, 200-line-screen printing with its new FB3300A inline flexo press at an open house in Cincinnati recently (right).

Partnering with Enovation Graphic Systems and MacDermid Printing Solutions, Nilpeter used the Digital MLT: a digital plate processed on a MacDermid LAVA thermal-plate processing system. The resulting 200-line-screen photopolymer plates were then used to print labels on the FB3300A. This is reportedly the highest line-screen plate MacDermid has ever developed.

Nilpeter demonstrated the versatility of the FB3300A by printing cosmetic, food, water and spirits labels on the eight-color, 13-in. press. First introduced at Labelexpo Europe last September, the FB3300A has proven a success, resulting in more than 30 orders worldwide. Other suppliers involved in the project were Rotometrics, GEW Ltd., Water Ink Technologies, Tesa Tape, J.M. Heaford Ltd., and E.C. Shaw.
