The MAXICONE® nine-layer die for barrier films offers converters the flexibility to configure and produce new barrier film structures tailored to the requirements of the packaged product. Waterline's Ritebag is a high speed, servo-controlled pouch machine that can produce two- or three-sided seal, zipper, stand-up, side gusseted, retort and medical pouches. Co. introduces the tack-sealable polyester Lumirror® PA30, a transparent film that is modified on both sides for improved printing and laminating adhesion, for stand-up pouches. It can also be used to tack-seal to itself or to lap-seal the inside surface of a lamination to the outside surface. It supports water- and solvent-based inks, aqueous coatings and aqueous-based silicone release coatings.

Co. introduces the 3400 series of web-tension controllers which, based on the CB-64 controller board, can be configured for load cell based control, dancer-arm position control or dancer-arm control with tension indication. The Unifilm U725 acrylic transfer adhesive is formulated for high-temperature gasketing/sealing, product assembly and general purpose bonding. It offers good, long-term aging on a wide variety of surfaces and resists environmental extremes including temperatures greater than 250 deg F. Paper substrates with optical brighteners added also appear blue under a black light, making it difficult to see the security markings. Co.'s newly designed Cleveland-Kidder tension indicator incorporates Cleveland-Kidder's latest DIN-rail amplifier for signal conditioning. Outfitted with either a standard analog or LED-digital display, the tension indicator directly accepts 50/60 HZ, 86-264 VAC single-phase input power. No switches or jumpers are required for operation at 120 or 240 VAC or 24 VDC, which can also be brought directly into the amplifier.

Inline conveyor
For high-temperature materials
The high-temperature line vac conveyors convert hose or tube into an inline conveying system for materials up to 900 deg F. Applications include hot flue gases, exhausting fumes and conveying hot debris. These air-operated conveyors feature large throat diameters for maximum throughput capability, co. says.
