Flex-pack converter Cello-Pack Corp. of Buffalo, NY, invests in a new 10-color NOVOFLEX® CL press from Windmoeller & Hoelscher Corp. (Lincoln, RI) to increase capacity and market share. The press is expected to be installed in August. "We felt the (NOVOFLEX CL's) 59-in. width with the long 49-in. repeats would help grow existing markets, as well as others, such as case-ready meat and printed shrink film," explains Rich Hummell, Cello-Pack executive vice president and general manager.
Steinhauser, Inc, a 100-year-old family-owned printing and converting company that serves the greater Cincinnati area, adds a Premius Digital 3 Chip print-process management system from BST Pro Mark (Elm-hurst, IL). The Premius has been in-stalled on a 16-in. Comco ProGlide MSP UV-flexo press (St. Louis) that prints p-s labels for the cosmetics and HBA markets. Steinhauser produces a variety of products on both sheet- and web-fed presses, including direct mail, in-mold and pressure-sensitive labels.
Montreal, Canada-based printer Supremex, Inc., a division of Cenveo, will install a new Omet Varyflex press this spring. The 20-in., 8-color press is a combination UV-flexo and hot-air Varyflex system. It will initially produce high-end envelopes and eventually will help expand the company into new markets, Supremex says. The Varyflex was sold by West Hartford, CT-based Omet representative Matik North America. Supremex's customized Varyflex employs Omet's new "Flying-Cut" tool-less sheeter that provides infinitely-variable sheeting repeats from 12 to 33 in. from a single set of tooling.
