Staff -- Converting Magazine, 2/1/2006
The "Slitting and Rewinding Fundamentals For Converters" seminar, organized by CEMA (Ft. Mill, SC), is ideal for anyone involved with these operations for paper, film, nonwovens and other continuous flexible materials. The program will be held April 4–5 at the Ramada Inn & Conference Ctr. in North Brunswick, NJ.
Manufacturers and designers of slitting/rewinding equipment will take participants step-by-step through the best practices techniques in such areas as winding, slitting, cores and cutting, retrofitting, chucks, shafts, spreading and web guiding. Structured to be easily understood by those new to the industry, the seminar also will provide advanced information to those with more experience. Q&A sessions are set throughout the seminar to address specific needs.
Who should attend?Anyone involved in slitting and rewinding operations—operators, foreman, QC personnel, production engineers, and process-control staff—will benefit from the program, says CEMA.
A tabletop reception will be held on April 4, after the first day's presentations. CEMA and AIMCAL member companies can display their products and services free.
A special hotel room rate of $79 is available at the Ramada Inn, if booked by March 4.
Seminar fees are $495 for the first registrant, $450 for the second, and $400 each for the third and/or subsequent registrants from the same company.
