Staff -- Converting Magazine, 11/1/2005

St. Louis-based Barry-Wehmiller Co., Inc., a supplier of packaging, corrugating and paper converting technology, completes its acquisition of Paper Converting Machine Co. (PCMC) in Green Bay, WI, on Oct. 19. This is the company's largest acquisition to date. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. PCMC operations will remain in Green Bay and retain the PCMC brand name.

Swiss pressmaker The Gallus Group (offices in Philadelphia) expands into the folding-carton business by acquiring a 30-percent stake in equipment maker BHS Druck- und Verede-lungstechnik GmbH (Weiden, Germany). The purchase is intended to accelerate the growth of the folding-carton business by providing roll-fed printing machines for the economical inline manufacture of cartons, Gallus says.
