Almost 300 labelmaking professionals gathered at the Tag and Label Manufacturers Institute (TLMI) and the Foundation of the Flexographic Technical Association's (FFTA) Technical Conference Sept. 7–9 in Chicago. Themed "Progress Without Limits," the conference enlightened participants to the issues and technologies that will drive the tag and label industry forward.

Two days of presentations covered some of the industry's most pressing issues: from radio frequency identification to lean manufacturing, and its most innovative technologies: from digital printing to environmentally friendly adhesives and face stocks. For the first time, the second day of the seminar was split into two tracks to offer something for everyone, TLMI said. Attendees were allowed to switch between tracks and attend whichever session best fit their needs.
