Vancouver, BC, Canada-based JMCanada is named the official North American agent for Jinming Plastics Equipments Co., Ltd., specializing in coextruded-film manufacturing lines. Since Jinming Plastics' inception in 1987, it has received numerous awards for quality and innovation and has been recognized by the Asian plastics industry as an important blown-film and blowmolding equipment manufacturer in China. The company has successfully installed two of the largest blown-film lines in Asia, and is reportedly the first manufacturer in China to produce 5-, 7- and 9-layer co-extrusion lines.
Wood Dale, IL-based Danaher Motion acquires G&L Motion Control, Inc. (GLMC), a leader in motion-centric machine control solutions from parent ThyssenKrupp (Düsseldorf, Germany). The transaction is limited to the G&L Motion Control business located in Fond Du Lac, WI. GLMC is a global supplier to machine-building OEMs in converting, packaging, assembly and factory automation. GLMC will be part of the Motion Control Systems Center of Excellence in Danaher's motion platform.
Ft. Lauderdale, FL-based InkSure Technologies, Inc., says that its wholly-owned InkSure RF subsidiary has been awarded two key US patents related to the company's ongoing development of "chipless" radio frequency tags. InkSure is a provider of covert, machine-readable security solutions for the prevention of counterfeiting, fraud and diversion. The two patents are titled "Chipless RF Tags" and "Radio Frequency Data Carrier and System for Reading Data Stored Therein." InkSure Technologies did not provide details on the manufacture of the "chipless" RF tags.
Microtrace, LLC (Minneapolis) and XSYS Print Solutions (Charlotte, NC) will partner to deliver a traceable, anti-counterfeit ink technology called Microtaggant® Security Inks for the narrow-web tag and label industry. The Microtaggant technology is a unique numeric code sequence in a multi-colored layer format, delivering multiple layers of security through a single microscopic particle. It is combined with XSYS' UV-curable ink system that can be applied using flexographic or rotary-screen technology.
Vancouver, BC, Canada-based prepress systems provider Creo, Inc., and Acucote, Inc. (Graham, NC), agree to jointly produce security-label printing stocks. The pressure-sensitive label stocks will combine Creo Traceless taggants into Acucote label materials, which will be sold to label converters for the manufacture of product labels for pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, apparel, foods and beverages, and other items.
