DuPont (Wilmington, DE) acquires a 100-percent share of Logan, UT-based DuPont Authentication Systems (DAS), a joint venture between DuPont and Keystone Technologies LLC, which was created in 2001. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. DAS provides customers with complete overt, covert and forensic brand authentication and security systems built around its Izone® deep, three-dimensional photopolymer-based labels.
Palo Alto, CA-based Hewlett-Packard Co. signs a definitive agreement Aug. 11 to acquire Scitex Vision, Ltd. (Tel Aviv, Israel) for $230 million in cash. Scitex Vision is a market leader in wide- and super-wide format printers for signage and industrial applications, such as packaging, billboards, banners and advertising. The acquisition is expected to close within 60 days.
Wikoff Color Corp. purchases the assets of Frontier Printing Inks, a leading Canadian manufacturer of inks for the flexible packaging, label, fine paper and paperboard markets. Established in 1951, Frontier Printing Inks develops and markets performance-based inks for flexographic and gravure printing. It has 80 employees and four manufacturing plants in three Canadian provinces: two in Ontario, one in British Columbia and one in Quebec. Martin Hambrock, president of Frontier, joins Wikoff as vice president of Canadian operations.
