CPP Expo 2005 debuts

New concept, new location aims to draw converters to Las Vegas.

Adding a somewhat new twist to the growing number of converting-related exhibitions is the debut this month of CPP (Converting & Package Printing) Expo 2005, taking place Sept. 26–28 in Las Vegas (www.cppexpo.com), concurrently with Pack Expo Las Vegas. Organizer H.A. Bruno says it wants to give converting exhibitors a lower-cost alternative to Chicago-based trade shows, and they also think exhibitors and attendees alike will benefit from the proximity of the packaging-machinery show, and a gathering that emphasizes the entire supply chain.

To its credit, CPP Expo's organizer has managed not only to amass a respectable number of inaugural exhibitors (nearly 200 as of presstime), but also to convince a number of converting and printing organizations to hold meetings during the week to draw additional attendees (see "Concurrent events"). Together with the reciprocal badge arrangement with Pack Expo, there appears to be ample opportunity for favorable attendance at this premiere CPP Expo.
