Workflow tool reduces proofing cycles
Said to simplify and streamline CMYK-based multi-color printing, the ProfileMaker 5 Publish Plus reduces separation and proofing cycles by a factor of three, says co. After users create a CMYK-N profile, they can edit and soft-proof images in Adobe® Photoshop®, create a multi-color separation and output the image using the PM5 MultiColor plug-ins. The system's multi-color profiling technology ensures vibrant, high-quality color images, while optimizing ink consumption, co. says.

Module conducts measurement inline
The IΔEal is an add-on module to the PrintVision/Jupiter Automatic Inspection platforms that provides inline color measurement and management of pre-defined areas within the repeat. Color measurement can be automatically performed as a dedicated task or in parallel to automatic inspection and other process control tasks. All ΔE and ΔLab color measurements are recorded to a digital file and can be printed automatically at the end of the roll with the co.'s End of Roll Kit.

Software uses standard CMYK inks
Spotless™ software solutions allow converters to reproduce spot colors using process color builds instead of special inks. The software employs CMYK plus an extended process color set to reach spot colors outside the CMYK range. Spotless printing is capable of achieving a significant portion of the Pantone® colors as well as other color palettes that reference CIE L*a*b* values. With the co.'s SQUAREspot® thermal imaging and Staccato® screening, it can provide moiré free, smooth screen tint builds, stable on-press performance and high-resolution image reproduction.

View files in real time
Co.'s DiALOGUE v3.0, a stand-alone SWOP-certified softproofing application running under the Macintosh OS X operating system, integrates with a wide range of third-party automated workflows. Users can view files in real time without the need for client software or browser plug-ins. Using the new job approval system, it can be configured to initiate actions that are automatically performed after the file has been approved.

Proofer for flexo jobs
FlexoProof is specifically designed for digital proofing of flexographically printed jobs. It includes co.'s SpotColor, to manage special colors, as well as the Pantone® Library. With FlexoProof, color opacity and print sequences can be specified as needed. The printing substrate color and structure can be reproduced in the proof. DotProof® generates contract-quality halftone proofs from the same 1-bit data used by the film or platesetter RIP.

Proof matching on screen
Kaleidoscope, the color engine in all Scope workflow environments, is the RIP's—FlexRip's—device-independent color engine. It provides digital, press-matching proofing as well as proof matching on screen. Kaleidoscope reportedly excels in color management of special colors such as Pantone® and brand colors. It combines CMYK (colorimetric) profiles with patented special color (spectral) profiles. Special colors are individually profiled and stored in a database, resulting in excellent special color matching on both analog and digital proofing devices.
