Chevy Chase, MD-based RadTech North America and RadTech Japan (Tokyo) sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to exchange information and expand activities in the technical and market development of ultraviolet (UV) and electron beam (EB) technology. Both non-profit organizations are dedicated to the advancement of these fast-growing industrial processes. "As the growth of UV and EB accelerate worldwide, this agreement will help foster continued partnership between the US and Japan to support researchers and manufacturers in the application of the technology," says David Harbourne, RadTech president and president of supplier Fusion UV.
The Alexandria, VA-based Paperboard Packaging Council (PPC) forms a new alliance with the Pacific Coast Paper Box Mfrs. Assn. (PCPBMA), Los Angeles. Under terms of the agreement, PCPBMA members become members of the PPC while at the same time the PPC provides support services for PCPBMA meetings and programs. The new alliance is effective immediately.
Package-printing prepress house Flexicon AG, headquartered in Halle/Westphalia, Germany, opens a new full-service operation this month in Florence, KY. The new Flexicon Corp. will employ completely digitalized Apple workstations with state-of-the-art software packages and comprehensive data input controls for artwork. Reproduction will take place on Esko-Graphics workstations with PackEdge 4.0. Color proofs will be produced in a digital inkjet process on the latest DuPont Digital Cromalin® Generation B2 system. An Esko-Graphics Kaleidoscope 3.0 with integrated ICC profiles ensures perfect color management between all devices. A DuPont Cyrel® Digital Imager (CDI) Advance APL from Esko-Graphics has been installed in Kentucky for flexo-plate production.
