Wayne, NJ-based substrate provider Vacumet Corp. acquires the assets of metallizer Proma Technologies, Franklin, MA. Proma will become part of Vacumet's Metallized Paper Div.

"The newly expanded Metallized Paper Div. combines two organizations focused on meeting the growing needs of our customers, while developing products that create new worldwide applications for both silver and holographic metallized papers," says Vacumet president Robert T. Korowicki.

Following the creation of the Specialty Coating Div. in 2003 and the recent Plastics Div. capacity expansions in Austell, GA, and East Hartford, CT, the Proma Technologies acquisition is "part of Vacumet's commitment to remain the leading supplier of converted products and services, and to better serve our customers in the labeling, packaging and industrial markets," Korowicki says.
