Joint effort creates web cleaner

The joint venture between Kelva AB and Vetaphone A/S produced the new CC-Plus Corona/Web cleaner for narrow-web. The CC-Plus combines a contact cleaning unit, corona treater and a static neutralization unit in one compact housing. It is available in three models: the CC-Plus A300 for 300-mm-wide film, the CC-Plus A450 for 450-mm-wide film and the CC-Plus A600 for 600-mm-wide film.

Washer seals sleeves

Co.'s sleeve washer cleans sleeves with liquid, high-pressure water and a brush that continually alternates its rotation. The unit is placed near the press and it cleans sleeves in just a few minutes. The unit is designed for all ink types and the sleeve is ready for immediate press operation or storage after cleaning. The sleeve washer completely seals sleeves of all sizes so that liquid cannot get inside the sleeve.

Cleaning system offers direct drive rotation

The Ultrasonic Cleaning System offers direct drive rotation, power depth adjustment and zone cleaning. The direct drive rotation guarantees constant rotation and the power depth adjustment automatically stops lowering the rollers at the optimum distance for the most effective, uniform cleaning. In order to reduce ultrasonic exposure and extend the life of the immersible transducers, the zone cleaning design allows the operator to turn down or shut off the power output to the areas already cleaned. This focused cleaning will extend the life of the roller and the ultrasonic equipment, co. says.

Cleaner uses multi-frequency ultrasonics

Co.'s Alphasonics Ultrasonic Cleaning Stations use alphasound technology, which utilizes multi-frequency ultrasonics along with very low concentrations of cleaning solutions to clean low- and high-count anilox rolls. The systems can be configured to clean up to six rolls at a time, without removing bearings or gears. Roll damage due to common handling mishaps can be eliminated by having all rolls cleaned and rinsed on these integrated cleaning stations, co. says. The systems are available in widths up to 100 in.

Unit cleans chromed or ceramic anilox rolls

Enviroxi Cleanroller is a fully automatic cleaning system for chromed or ceramic anilox rolls and gravure cylinders. It projects a base of sodium bicarbonate at pressure with water. This powder base is water soluble, non-toxic and can be drained without danger into public sewage systems. The system has a maximum face length of 137 in., a maximum roll diameter of 15.75 in. and speeds up to 600 mm per min.

System cuts cleaning time in half

Co. introduces its new Dual Head System. By using two guns strategically placed over the anilox roll, the system cuts the normal cleaning cycle in half, co. says. It works simultaneously with the co.'s plastic media for consistent, deep cleaning. Also added to the system is a high pressure blow down, which starts after the cleaning cycle finishes. It travels the full length of the cabinet and completely blows off the rails and fixtures. This process cleans the cabinet and readies the anilox roll for wipe down and removal.

Heat activates cleaner

After two years of research, co. introduces the HA (heat-activated) Cleaner. At temperatures at or around 140 F, elements of the cleaning chemistry are activated. Once activated, these elements penetrate into the hardened masses of ink pigments and soften the resin structure. This process is combined with the scrubbing action of the ultrasonic cavitation. The HA Cleaner is also effective when used with heated soak tanks and heated pressure washers. This cleaner is engineered for high line screen anilox rolls, with up to 2,000 lpi.
