This high-speed system offers the highest scan rates and sensitivity to detect small and subtle defects at high web speeds. Defects as small as 1 sq mm can be detected and classified at a web speed of 1,200 fpm. This system includes one or more of the co.'s 40 MHz "Smart Cameras" with a Windows NT Workstation. It also provides an image of each defect, roll maps, roll database, trend graphs, alarms and reports. Roll maps are used to find and remove defects, and trend data is used to isolate the cause of defects and optimize maintenance scheduling.
