Slitter cuts light-gauge aluminum strips

Uteco Usimeca Mecanique, 33/1-6062-5151, fax: 33/1-6062-5131, www. uteco.com A new slitter/rewinder is designed specifically to product finstock-light-gauge aluminum strips for radiator, refrigerator and heat-exchanger constructions. It cuts materials from 4 to 29 mils thick from parent rolls up to 66 in. wide at speeds to 2,000 fpm. An unwinder accepts rolls up to 80 in. in dia. with a maximum weight of 30,000 lbs. At the rewinder, the coil diameter is up to 75 in. with a maximum weight of 18,000 lbs. The slitter cuts down to 0.5-in.-wide strips, with a maximum 35 cuts/roll. Traditional shear cutting and block-knife cutting are offered. Optional units include automatic edge guide, ultrasonic welder, aluminum-stretching system and a gauge control.
