Alcan, Inc. (Montreal) reached an agreement Feb. 14 to acquire UK-based Parkside International's flexible food-packaging plant in Zlotow, Poland. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The plant employs 150 people and has state-of-the art flexographic-printing capabilities and room for expansion.

Jackson Heights, NY-based converter Standard Folding Cartons, Inc., a subsidiary of The Standard Group, purchases Universal Folding Box (Hoboken, NJ). The terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Standard Folding Cartons is one of North America's largest independent converters of folding cartons.
