Paperboard packaging converter Smurfit-Stone Container Corp., Chicago, adds contract-labeling services through its DI-NA-CAL® label group in Cincinnati. The division recently played a major role in the national product launch of Procter & Gamble Co.'s Downy® Simple Pleasures™ Fabric Softener. Smurfit-Stone supplied P&G with heat-transfer labels, built a high-speed lab machine in-house at the company's Cincinnati plant and applied Simple Pleasures labels to 2 million bottles.
Shorewood Packaging, a business of Stamford, CT-based International Paper, and Pharmagraphics LLC, Greensboro, NC, a leading producer of pharmaceutical packaging components, form a strategic marketing alliance. The agreement enables both companies to jointly market their products and services to provide a broader range of packaging choices and lower-cost alternatives for customers in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries.
