Poland's Mondi Packaging Solec dedicates new Bobst Rotomec gravure flex-pack line
Staff -- Converting Magazine, 3/1/2005
Mondi Packaging Solec (formerly Frantschach Flexible Packaging Poland) inaugurated a new flex-pack production line at its facilities in Solec (near Warsaw), Poland, last fall. The project, estimated at $5.85 million, includes a new Rotomec RS 4004 gravure printing press and a Titan SR7 slitter/rewinder from Bobst Group, Flexible Materials Business Area, as well as a substantial thermal-oxidizing system for solvent waste. Mondi Packaging Solec serves global manufacturers in the food and non-food sectors such as Nestlè, Coca-Cola, Masterfoods and Danone—not only in its domestic market but also for export to Germany, Belgium and other countries in Central Europe. The newly installed 10-color Rotomec RS 4004 handles web widths up to 52 in. at speeds of 1,150 fpm. The machine has duplex automatic, shaftless winders and the possibility of cold-seal coating in-register. This cartridge-type gravure press prints oriented polypropylene and polyester films, cellophane, paper and laminates.
