Holographic PET film speeds converting
LumBrite™ U6E is a holographic PET film that is directly embossable, simplifying and speeding the converting process. It is said to provide excellent registration and can be used to quickly produce custom holograms and reduce waste. LumBrite can be used for film-to-board laminated packaging applications, including cosmetics, personal care and sporting goods, as well as product security and label applications. Advanced mechanical and thermal stability enable LumBrite U6E to run faster and hotter on the press, reports co. It is available in thicknesses from 15 to 50 microns.

Hidden image tech builds brand security
Co. offers hidden image technology in labels, security tape, tags and packaging for the branded packaged-goods industries. The images created cannot be seen by the naked eye and are extremely difficult to effectively reproduce, says co. A thin lens placed directly on the material reveals the images, which can be in any art form or text. The lens may be rotated 90 deg to reveal a second image. All images can be embedded in spot colors, in a 4-color process file or in phosphorescent ink, in which case black light is used in conjunction with the lens. The process involves having the customer and/or the licensee send a digital file of the artwork and a file of the image to be hidden. The co. embeds the image and returns the file. This prepress process does not interrupt production and can be accomplished in most printing environments.

Thin label film offers high printability
RAFLEX PLUS, a new thin, transparent, top-coated film, combines comformability and squeezability, says co. The material's exceptional printability, diecutting and dispensing qualities make it an ideal choice for HBA-container applications that require very fine-print detail. RAFLEX PLUS unites the best properties of PE and PP films in a BOPP substrate that also offers high register control on press, as well as the elimination of wrinkling on squeezable containers.
