Color-line guide sensor

Uses RGB or IR light

The AccuBeam® II digital color-line guide sensor uses ultra-high intensity LED light sources to recognize and guide any printed line or pattern regardless of its color or surrounding graphics. The sensor employs red, green, blue (RGB) or infrared (IR) light to optimize color recognition. To compensate for the different reflective qualities of matte, glossy or holographic webs, the AccuBeam II provides three projection ports, allowing operators to select the part that best optimizes the light incident angle. Operators can see the reflected line, edge or pattern characteristics by monitoring the sensor's high-solution backlit display.

Metallic inks

Prevents oxidation

Stellar™ is a new line of metallic inks specially formulated to prevent oxidation of the suspended metal flakes in metallic inks. The metal flakes contained in metallic inks provide luster and brightness but have a tendency to oxidize and produce hydrogen gas. Drawing on Redox and Ligand chemistry, the research chemists at CRI are able to chemically stabilize the metal flakes used in Stellar inks to prevent oxidation in water-based systems. Stellar inks are true metallics and are available in both silver and gold formulations as well as any other color required.

Corrosion resistant tech

For anilox rolls

Resistalloy™ is a unique combination of a specially developed thermal-spray process and parameters plus corrosion-resistant materials for anilox rolls. This relatively thin coating is applied at supersonic velocities, which yields a coating density of 99.8 percent, making the coating virtually a solid, says mfr. The super-dense coating prevents migration of corrosive chemistries of inks and cleaners from penetrating to the mild steel roll core where corrosion typically begins. Combined with specially formulated materials for various corrosive environments, the process has been proven to provide corrosion resistance two to three times longer than competitive methods.

Safety controller

Monitors via a central module

The new Omron F3SX safety controller, through a single central module, integrates the monitoring and functioning of individual safety devices such as light curtains, safety doors and emergency-stop buttons. This increases the reliability of safety systems by reducing the possibility of miswiring complex safety interlock systems or operator overwriting while increasing the difficulty of operator tampering. The system also provides continuous data logging on the status of safety devices. Two main modules are available. The F3SX-N monitors and reports broken lines to warning displays, warning operators of potential problems. The F3SX-E is a maintenance-free unit designed for use with equipment using high-frequency start-stop operations.
