Airshaft speeds changeovers
Co. introduces a patented new inflation toggle valve COR-LOK® airshaft option—TVCLAS—that is said to help reduce roll changeover times. TVCLAS employs standard rotary union for pneumatic hook-up and is specifically engineered for use in cantilevered applications. It is available in COR-LOK airshafts in 2 to 18 in. diameters. The main advantage of the TVCLAS is that it facilitates rapid roll changeovers. Because the easily reached toggle valve is built into the end of the airshaft, an operator does not have to leave the station to access a remote inflation control or retrieve any tools. The TVCLAS airshaft system is also compatible with CAC's sleeve-based core adapting option that allows converters to run varying core sizes, both 3 and 6 in. for example, on the same shaft or air shaft.

Shaftless core chucks meet high-speed applications
The Raptor Series is a new line of shaftless core chucks. The new 3-in. air-powered lug chuck is the first in the series and is available now. Designed for high-speed printing, laminating, sheeting applications on unwind flying or zero-speed splicers and other shaftless unwind/rewind applications, the new air-powered lug chuck has been designed to cut downtime, reduce the risk of injury and increase productivity. This new Raptor Series chuck enables on-machine maintenance and toolless adapter changes from 3- to 6-in. cores in less than 30 secs. Unique ergonomic benefits are provided to operators, who no longer have to remove the entire chuck from the machine for routine maintenance or core size changes.

Safety chuck provides cores-shaft support
The Safety Chuck provides core-shaft support and torque transmission for processing a variety of rolled material on converting equipment. Two safety chucks hold the cores shaft securely in place and open at both ends, allowing customers to make quick and easy roll changes. The key features and benefits: redundant safety mechanism ensures the chuck will close when put into motion; heavy-duty/durable construction provides maintenance-free, long-lasting product life; and chrome-plated locking ring.

Safety chucks open only when upright
Co. offers safety chucks that slide open with a patented push-button mechanism. Because they open only in the upright position, roll security is guaranteed. The sliding action reduces finger-jamming accidents common with tilting models. Chucks can be flange-mounted or foot-mounted, fixed or with sidelay adjustment. Sidelay adjustment models allow accurate roll positioning with an easy-to-operate handwheel, with horizontal range up to 4 in., reports co. Unique options of Double E chucks include fixed drive shafts, swivel bases to correct baggy web edges, and air operation.
